Online Resources Available to Alumni & Church Leaders

Although contract obligations that Simpson University has with database providers preclude us from making those resources available for anyone other than current students and faculty, we have compiled a list of general and regional resources that would be of benefit to alumni and church leaders.

Directory of Open Access Journals "The DOAJ aims to be comprehensive and cover all open access scientific and scholarly journals that use a quality control system to guarantee the content." [ www.doaj.org ]
ERIC The Education Resources Information Center is a digital library of education related resources. ERIC includes full text of some ERIC documents. [ eric.ed.gov ]
JSTOR Register and Read Register & Read provides "approximately 1,200 journals from more than 700 publishers, a subset of the content in JSTOR." Content covers the first volume and issue published for these journals through a recent year (generally 3-5 years ago). [ about.jstor.org/rr ]
Open Library Sign up online for a free Open Library card and borrow up to five e-books for two weeks. Choose from over 200,000 eBooks downloadable through the 1,000+ participating libraries. [ openlibrary.org ]
PubMed Central "PMC is a free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM)." The PMC archive contains over 2.8 million articles. [ www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc ]
Theological Journal Search "This search engine targets over 1,000 Web sites/pages to retrieve full text articles from hundreds of open access journals and other periodicals related to religious studies, scripture studies, systematic theology, practical theology, and cognate disciplines."
